A global disease impact study focused on adolescents

Alopecia & Us is a research collaborative initiative dedicated to exploring the emotional and psychological impact of alopecia areata, particularly among adolescents aged 12-17 and their families. Adolescents and their parents will have the opportunity to participate through this self-reporting online platform. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition that causes hair loss, which can range from small patches to complete loss across the scalp or body. While the physical effects are well-recognised, the broader emotional and social challenges it creates remain less understood.

Our mission is to deepen the understanding of this condition’s effects, fostering awareness and advocating for holistic care. Through research, community involvement, and shared experiences, we aim to empower individuals and families to navigate life with alopecia areata with resilience and confidence.
